techniques of the Complement Channels

jan 31 - feb 1 | root cause medicine | greenville, sc

One of the most profound aspects of the Complement Channels is that they can literally treat anyone, at any time, in any condition, with any type of complaint; once we understand the full system of acupuncture and how to properly apply it, based on principle & sound needling technique, we can fully support whatever comes into our clinic.

The Complement Channels (sometimes called Secondary Vessels) are the classical channels not taught in their entirety in acupuncture schools, and as such, they are the ones that practitioners have had the least opportunity for clinical supervision and hands-on learning. This post-graduate practicum is intended to help practitioners refine their diagnostic and needling skills and thereby, increase clinical confidence when working with these channels. Over two days, this hands-on course will cover the diagnostics & techniques necessary for successful treating the sinew, the luo, the divergent, and the eight extraordinary channels. This course is designed to be a practicum, so a working understanding of these channels is necessary to maximize learning outcomes.

During these two days, you will both receive and give a treatment in each of these channels: sinew, luo, divergent, and eight extraordinary. We will review and answer questions you have about the ways in which we diagnose all four of these channels, including differentiating between divergent and eight extraordinary pulses, as taught by Ann Cecil-Sterman. You will be supported in refining your understanding of and application of the techniques recommended for each of the channels, so that you feel confident in treating any variation of the human experience.

This course will be capped at 10 people. Upon registration, you will receive a list of suggested supplies to bring with you to class. Treatment tables will be provided.
