Food Therapy: Why You Need It, What It Is, & How It Works

If you feel like nutrition info is always changing and you don't know what to do anymore, food coaching may be exactly what you need.

The food industry has made it increasingly difficult for us to get good information. Who's funding what research? Are we getting the full report? Is fat good or bad? How about butter? What about sugar? Should I eat meat or not? Does organic matter?

With food coaching, we're taking it back to the old school. The REAL old school. Long before the food industry. Before "food science". Before lobbyists. Before commercials. Back to a time where doctors got paid when their patients were healthy, not sick. Back before the pharmaceutical industry and definitely before the weight loss industry.

My reason for offering this program is to give you the tools to live a healthier, and by extension, happier life by teaching you the Chinese Medicine (CM) principles of food so that you can make the right decisions for you—in sickness and in health.

The basis of this program is what is known in CM as “Food Therapy”. The Ancient Chinese ranked components of their medicine from most superior to inferior, so while acupuncture is the more familiar aspect of CM, the Ancients also acknowledged that idea that what you do daily (usually at least three times) is more important than what you do occasionally

  1. right thinking (meditation)

  2. internal exercises (tai chi, qi gong)

  3. diet

  4. physical movement

  5. herbs

  6. acupuncture

  7. surgery

A self-cultivation practice is important for good health.

A self-cultivation practice is important for good health.

Weight management is also integral to good health, but this is not a diet plan. You won’t be eliminating certain foods from your diet, drinking shakes or taking supplements, or counting or measuring anything. If you're looking for a fast weight loss plan, this isn't it.

In addition to learning the ropes of food therapy, you will also be addressing some of the other aspects of balanced living--getting clear about your why—why are you doing this program? What's important to you? You'll be goal setting, observing your current habits, including exercise, sleep, and mood, learning new strategies for meal planning, shopping, and prepping, so that by the end of this program, you'll have a new way of being.
